surfy birdy

ok so it has come time for a little change in my art world. i see myself drifting away from the peace owl character more and more and painting what is in my heart more and more and that is the sea and surfing. Don't worry the peace owl is not going away he is just one part of my art and my heart so you will still see him but my main focus will be surf art and inspirational quote art, as I have bee n doing. I want to continue to spread peace & love but with lots of stoke mixed in. I hope you like the direction I am heading and I hope you continue to inspire me to do what I do with the sharing of your smiles & joy. saturday was the 6th annual Stitch Rock Indie Craft Show & Bazaar . it is held at Old School Square Delray in an old vintage gymnasium over 80 unique crafty & vintage vendors are spread out inside the gymnasium and also outside under a giant tent. this year i went for the outside spot rather than my usual inside spot the 3 years before, figured id be closer to nature but it was a tad humid this day but it was still nice. i have cut down on craft shows so i did feel a bit out of practice. wish my display was a little more exciting. a lot of work goes into preparing for a craft show and i crafted lots of new paintings, created flower power produce size bags & sandwich size bags, lots of new ceramic dishes & new prints. friday june 10th all over the world people celebrated Etsy Craft Day (sorry if you did not get the memo). this year i held a little one at The Bubble Fort Lauderdale and we had a fun crafty time. we had a tie dye station and other crafty things for people to create. it was a fun group of happy faces including my little sister karina. shes 7 now and super cute and talented in all sorts of ways. she was my helper for the show and was a great one. i made a big batch of fresh squeezed lemonade and we had sheets spread out on the lawn for a nice outdoor summer time crafty time. a few talented musical friends played music: Brady Newbill, Trav, and Ryan Alexander. it was a fun little celebration of Etsy and a nice little crafty gathering i hope you got to enjoy one in your hometown and if not make one happen in your hometown next year. peace, love & happy summertime.

These are some photos snapped at the Etsy Crafty Party that was held by my hometown. It was put on by the Hollywood Craft Mafia and it was at my favorite craft store Pearls . When I was little my mom would take us there and it always felt like Disney world. It is a huge craft store filled of treasures. This event was on June 18th ( Etsy's birthday) and was meant to get crafty folks together to celebrate and be crafty together with those in your town and around the world. It was a great idea that was promoted on Etsy's storque and using Meetup.com to track the different meetups around the world. The top 50 received a goodie box from Etsy/ Readymade/ and Meetup, and we made the top 50! Woot, that was exciting. We had tons of fun at this party, the craft projects were create your own stamp, or sew a wristlet purse. today i got a special package in the mail from one of my long time favorite etsy shops by Mary Jane . i actually won an awesome giveway on her blog for the necklace in the photo above. it is a lovely little cast twin crystal necklace. i feel so lucky to win this as i have dreamed of having one of her creations for so long. it seems unreal to actually win it and have it magicaly appear at my home. but a big thank you goes her way for being such an amazing and talented crafty lady with that special 60s vibe. below are more photos of the lovely items currently nestled up in her etsy shop . enjoy! please check out mary jane's awesomeness for yourself at her shop and blog . you will fall in love i promise. peace & love!

saturday was the Sugar House Holiday Bazaar at the House of Vintage in delray beach, florida. it was a fun event filled with holiday cheer, hot cocoa, sprinkle cookies, handmade goodies, vintage goodies, and lots of wonderful crafty people. i had a really great time and enjoyed some great company at the show. not just my twin sister who has retro wonderful doxie art but some other amazing crafty ladies (on etsy) like ragamufyn , bean blossom , and stitch of whimsy . i still am new to doing these craft shows this year and people like them are really inspiring to me. giving handmade gifts is the best. some of the items that were set free from my table are ceramic peace owl ornaments, peace sign bowls, peace owl prints, and peace owl painting. i am sure they will be very happy with there new homes. :) peace, love, and holiday cheer!!
