on march 31st i participated in a rad art contest at a surf shop in fort lauderdale, BC Surf & Sport. the show caught my attention in particular because one of my favorite surf artists Andy Davis was putting it on along with Billabong & BC. I have been a fan of his art for years and never thought i would get the chance to meet him. He is an artist from California his surf art has been on posters and clothes his paintings show so much joy that is from the soul of a surfer. he paints such life into the waves and into the surfer guys and girls he paints. they are wonderful. he recently joined forces with Billabong and has been creating art for them and making lots of rad shirts, shorts, hats etc. His art is reaching places i'm sure he would never have imagined. This contest was a great local art show with the theme of Waves, it was open to anyone to submit an original artwork with that theme and on march 31st they would have a show & announce a winner. flash back - saturday december 17th was the 2nd annual travulous and friends spread cosmic cheer, holiday market & intergalactic musical at iwan the bubble, fort lauderdale. it was a fun event filled with cheer, lights, vendors, travulous play, and bands. i decorated for the show and turned the bubble into a winter wonderland with some snowflakes from scrap magazines, paintings on cardboard, glitter, garlands, lights, etc. i made a painted a fireplace on some scrap wood and turned the back area into a mock living room cozy with differnt wall artists on display. outside we had a teepee turned TreePee with some green garlands and lights. bands played on the stage outside and shined a little extra with some holiday lights above. we had vendors inside the gallery and outside selling handmade/ vintage items and a coffee shop vendor and 2 yummy cupcake vendors. inside was also a Cheer Tunnel which was sure to brighten anyones spirits who entered. neary by was a ...

    flash back to july 22nd was an intergalactic fun time at IWAN The Bubble, hosting a fashion show with Betsey Johnson and other local indiependant designers. all who came got the chance to get a glamformation including glitter and big hair. a special host Travulous (a bowie like cosmic rock star) kept people entertained and closed the show with a great preformance to get people moving and shaking. this all happened after an out door runway show that included Total Recall Vintage, Fox House, Katty Munoz, Maria Veronica Rivas, Sean Murdock and Betsey Johnson Aventura showing her fall line. i got to walk the runway like a bird in a fun Betsey Johnson dress with flowy flowery sleeves that reminded me of wings. Lots of art sparkled on the walls and bands played outside. it was a great place to be in the cosmos. i painted a cosmic david bowie special for the occasion. peace & love

friday june 10th all over the world people celebrated Etsy Craft Day (sorry if you did not get the memo). this year i held a little one at The Bubble Fort Lauderdale and we had a fun crafty time. we had a tie dye station and other crafty things for people to create. it was a fun group of happy faces including my little sister karina. shes 7 now and super cute and talented in all sorts of ways. she was my helper for the show and was a great one. i made a big batch of fresh squeezed lemonade and we had sheets spread out on the lawn for a nice outdoor summer time crafty time. a few talented musical friends played music: Brady Newbill, Trav, and Ryan Alexander. it was a fun little celebration of Etsy and a nice little crafty gathering i hope you got to enjoy one in your hometown and if not make one happen in your hometown next year. peace, love & happy summertime.

 Travalonia :) this saturday was such a fun celebration of IWAN The Bubbles 's Happy 2 year Anniversary. i captured some of the fun for the first part of the event and got some of the wall art and bands, but more fun was to be had and the camera didnt stay attached. thanks to everyone who was apart of the magic. We lucked out with clear skys for a beautiful night. The event was filled with music (8 bands/ dj), art from exhibiting wall art to crafty vendors ( Funk You , Edau , Lollipop Graphics , The Hemp Butterfly , Just V , Its Me Designs , Allison Kapner Originals , Holly Hobbys, Melodic Muses, Heartbeatz Accesories, One Odd Gentleman, Victor Velasco), photography installations by Sean Murdock , Valyn Calhoun and Parallax Squared , a photo FunBooth by Penelope Lane , food, drinks, dancing, cake, balloons, smiley faces, and lots of love. this saturday was an event 'for the little ones' a benefit for Jack & Jill Children's Center  at IWAN The Bubble . Jack & Jill Children's Center is in Broward County Florida and it is a non-profit organization that provides family oriented early childhood education and support to strengthen working families. They serve children ages infant to 5 years old, year round from 7:15am - 5:45pm to serve the needs of working parents. I went with some others from IWAN The Bubble and visited the Jack & Jill Children's Center and the lil ones there gave me big smiles, some hugs and a flower. Each class room, activity room, kitchen, play ground was filled with light, smiles, singing, playing, ballet, learning and creative crafts. I fell in love with the Center and can't wait to visit again. This event for the little ones was filled with love, music, art, craft vendors, yummy food, and drinks.
