I drew this recycling kitty cat for the South Florida Swap-O-Rama that was at Trash to Treasure Creative Re-Use Center . It was put on by The Dirty Peaches Clothing Co who make clothing from 100% recycled, rescued, post-consumer or vintage materials. It was a super fun event where you bring in a bag of unwanted clothes and swap it for clothes you pick out at the swap. Then you got to go to one of the sewer/ designers and have your picks created into whatever you dreamed of. I had a flowery shoulder bag made from pajama pants and a scrap floral fabric and a tank top made with more of the floral scrap and string. Also you could have one of 3 winning designs screen printed on your items using the Yudu screenprinting machine. My recycling kitty was one of those designs and it was so cute and exciting to have the kitty on different crafted items. This was a two day event and at the end was a fashion show to show off the creations. Can't wait for more events from these crafty ladies. ...

These are some photos snapped at the Etsy Crafty Party that was held by my hometown. It was put on by the Hollywood Craft Mafia and it was at my favorite craft store Pearls . When I was little my mom would take us there and it always felt like Disney world. It is a huge craft store filled of treasures. This event was on June 18th ( Etsy's birthday) and was meant to get crafty folks together to celebrate and be crafty together with those in your town and around the world. It was a great idea that was promoted on Etsy's storque and using Meetup.com to track the different meetups around the world. The top 50 received a goodie box from Etsy/ Readymade/ and Meetup, and we made the top 50! Woot, that was exciting. We had tons of fun at this party, the craft projects were create your own stamp, or sew a wristlet purse. My friend Tatiana is moving to NC and as her birthday/ going away/ i'll miss you present i painted her a Peace Owl Longboarding Free Bird. This Peace Owl is hanging 10, or two stick legs. She is moving to NC with her BF Thomas and I can't wait to visit. I'd love to road trip there and find some adventures, enjoy the nature and run through some flower fields. Peace & Love!

this sunday i had my peace owl art at a super groovy festival called love-in festival at greynolds park in north miami beach. it is a peace loving 60s festival at a park that was once the hang out for the flower child in the 1960s for jam sessions, poetry readings and peace demonstrations. this was the 7th annual love-in festival and it was a fun filled day of peace, love, 60s music, art, vintage goods, hoola hooping, picnicing, flowers, sunshine, vw's and smiles. i wish every day could have that vibe. but i was glad to be apart of this one. you can see more photos on my facebook fan page . on may 1st the bubble (IWAN gallery) had a birthday party celebrating there 1st birthday. it turned one year old. it was a grand celebration with yummy treats, cupcakes, candy, music, art, and lots of fun. i made the birthday hats and decorated them w glitter. it was a fun time with a great group of people. i look forward to many more events and bubble birthdays. peace & love!

sorry i have been missing in blog form, my twin sister got married last month and i was a busy maid of honor. i planned a surprise bridal shower for jess and had it at her new home so it was tricky. i had to be sneaky but i was able to pull off the surprise. yay! it was a 'tacky flamingo lawn party' bridal shower. it was picnic style in the backyard with friends and family who all helped with keeping the surprise and bringing yummy dishes and smiles. her wedding was the weekend after the bridal shower and it was on a perfect blue sky sunshiney day. she married eric carter a church by the beach and had a reception at the beach. it was a lovely wedding, every bit of it. here are some photos from the bridal shower and the wedding day: Love!
